1.The
duration of the course of instruction for the Master
of Arts (Ecomonics) examination shall be two years
and the examination shall be held in two parts, viz-part
I at the end of the course of first year and Part II
at the end of the course of second year.
The examination in parts I and II shall ordinarily
be held annually in the month of April on the dates
fixed by Syndicate.
For candidates who have to take partial re-examination,a
supplementary examination willbe held normally in
the month of September/October or on such other
dates as may be fixed by the University to enable a
student to clear the re-apper/s,he will be given
another chance in the following annual examination.
If he fails again to clear the re-appear/s in the
two consecutive chances as given above, he will be
reverted to the previous lower class.
2.The
last for receipt for admission form and fee with and
without late fee as fixed by Syndicate shall be
notified by the Controller of Examinations to all
the affiliated colleges.
3.A
person who has passed one of the following
examinations from this University,or from any other
University whose examination has been recognised as
equivalent to the corresponding examination of this
university(Under 10+2+3 system of Education) shall
be eligible to join the first year (part I) class of
the M.A. course.
(i)B.A. with Honours in the subject of the
Post-Graduate Course.
(ii)(a)Bachelor's degree in any Faculty with at
least 50 percent marks in the aggregate OR
(b)Diploma in Physical Education examination or
Post-Graduate Diplima in Library science after
having passed B.A.or B.Sc.
(iii)The B.A.(pass)/B.Sc.(Pass) examination in full
subjects; obtaining at lest 45% marks in the
elective subject of the Post-Graduate courseORhas
obtained B.A degree though English only regulations
obtaining atleast 45% of marks in the elective
subjects of the Post -graduate course.
(iv)Master degree examination in another subject of
another faculty.
(v)B.Sc.(Honours.)
4.The
Examination in part I/II shall be open to a student
who :-
(a) has passed not less than one academic year
previously the requisite examination as laid down in
Regulation 3
(b) is certified by competent authority under
Regulation 16.3 of Chapter VIII (A) of Calender,
Volume 1 to have completed the approved course of
instruction.
5.Each successful candidates of part I shall
receive a certificate of having passed that part of
the examination.
